Oh, the Irony…

There are quite a few days when we are doing actual ‘school’ where we have much complaining, sighs, and groans from the kids.

Are we DONE yet? Do we HAVE to have school today? Etc….etc….

We’re on a much needed break and just relaxing as a family, but do you know what the kids are doing most of the time?

Playing school.

Go figure.

  • Had to laugh - that is so my kids! They were ready and excited for Christmas break, but half the time has already been spent playing school, making a book, etc. LOL.

  • That is funny! My kids are only almost 4 and almost 2, but I have been trying to do "preschool" with Lexy. It seems that she's never quite as enthusiastic as I'd like, but she's very enthusiastic about playing school when she gets to be the teacher.

  • That's so funny, my kids are doing the same thing, then when I ask if they want to do school they say NO!

  • Just this morning I was looking at a "newspaper article" that my six year old wrote. I commented to my husband that if I ask our son to write more than two sentences, he acts as if I am torturing him, but he is more than happy to write a whole page on his own. I am glad to hear that my guy isn't the only less than enthusiastic homeschool participant :)

  • My kids are the same way. In our case the boys, 9 and 10 yo, complain for real, but the 7 yo pretend complains. :) She acts like she can't stand the work but she is the first one to complain that her workboxes aren't filled yet. :)

  • And I thought my child was the only one doing this. The funny thing here is she has no sibblings, so she is teaching her Mini and other stuffed animals.

  • that is so true! :) When I was little I loved playing school and would make my younger brother be a student... when he got old enough I was desperate and let him be the "principal"! LOL

  • Isn't that just the way these things go?
