Old Schoolhouse ~ Digital Holiday Supplement

2009 Holiday Digital Supplement/Idea Book

I had an email in my inbox this last week from The Old Schoolhouse Magazine letting me know that they are offering a FREE digital holiday supplement to their magazine. I just had a chance to check it out and the pictures are amazing and there are some GREAT ideas in there!

{and free is always nice….}

The supplement has over 175 pages of recipes, crafts and ideas ~ and even includes all that you need to throw an authentic Thanksgiving celebration right down to the costumes {oh….Laurianna would be so in love with that….}.

All you need to do is click on the graphic above and you can download your own copy to browse through! Enjoy!

Fourth of July Resources

Fourth of July sorta snuck up on me. It wasn't until I did this Friend Makin' Monday post that I realized we've done little over the years for the fourth. Since we have no pictures at all to show for any 4th of July activities, I figured this would be a good year to start. I also posted some Fourth of July crafts {a cute hat and 'sparkler'} that we made today over on our family blog, No Ordinary Moments, so stop by and check them out

If I get really ambitious, we might even do a little unit study, but in the meantime {and since one of you asked}, here are some resources for you to use for your own Independence Day study.

Heritage House Press
~ Free Mini Unit {act quick!!} all about the 4th! All you have to do is sign up for their newsletter. The link is on the page.

We Belong to Heaven ~ John Mandeville

Today marks the official release of We Belong to Heaven from John Mandeville. Over the years he has written hit songs for Point of Grace {Jesus Will Still Be There}, 4Him, Clay Crosse, Avalon, and Tammy Trent...to name just a few. We Belong to Heaven was birthed during a difficult season in John's life:
“This project really wrote itself as a result of what I was living through, it was meant to be a monument of change for my family, sort of like David wrote the Psalms,” he recalls of those initial sessions. “This was the turning point, the line in the sand, to see all the drama come to a close”. It was my chance to find my heart and return to a place of hope, while also returning to the heart of who I am as an artist.” ~ JM
...read more about John's album, We Belong to Heaven, and get peek at one of his videos, by heading over to No Ordinary Moments.

***Be sure to follow the below instructions exactly for your free download!!***

We started listening to Jonathan Park: The Adventure Begins, the first cd set in a radio drama series from Vision Forum that focuses on Creationism. We were a little worried at first that it might be over the kids head, but have been amazed at the questions and discussions that the series has brought up with our kids.

As a BONUS, today through Friday (February 27th) anyone can download the entire first album of Jonathan Park by signing up for a Behemoth.com account (it's quick and painless I can assure you). That's over 5 hours of some great entertainment for your kids - for FREE!
