Giveaway #1 ~ Itty-Bitty Bookworm
This Giveaway is now CLOSED!
Itty-Bitty Bookworm has generously donated a FULL YEAR of curriculum {worth $300} to one of my readers! Please read through this post for the complete details on this great giveaway!
I think you all know how much time it takes to plan activities for your little ones ~ having something on hand to help save you time and energy can be a HUGE blessing. Maybe you need a little inspiration in your planning and a 'fresh-start' for the new year? Tara at Itty~Bitty Bookworm has an incredible literature-based preschool curriculum that can be used in both a homeschool setting as well as an in-home daycare or school setting. Itty-Bitty Bookworm provides curriculum for children ages 18 months to 5 years of age with a wide range of activities including cooking, math, crafts, manipulative ideas, imaginative play, rhymes, language/phonics, and much more.
Bailey's curriculum (ages 18 to 36 months) focuses on two different books each month and Bo's curriculum (ages 3 to 5) focuses on four books each month. The activities and projects for the lessons revolve around the stories that are being read with the children.
Lesson plans are broken down into an easy-to-follow daily format {you can see a pdf sample here} and they are completely flexible!
Curriculum calendars for both levels:- Baily Curriculum (for ages 18-36 months) and book lists for Year 1 and Year 2. You can also view a sample lesson of Five Little Monkeys.
- Bo Curriculum (for ages 3-5) and book lists for Year 1 and Year 2. You can also preview a sample lesson of Mushroom in the Rain.
Tara, the founder of Itty-Bitty Bookworm, also has a blog, Raising Itty-Bitty Bookworms along with free resources for parents. If you are interested in ordering Itty-Bitty Curriculum, you can choose to download a month of lesson plans ($20 each month) at a time or order a CD-rom ($30/month) of plans. Itty-Bitty has also started offering a geography~based curriculum, called Bo’s World Units, which are being released over this next year ~ and I know for a fact that a unit on Tanzania should be releasing soon, since I helped write it! :)
The Itty-Bitty Bookworm has kindly offered to give one reader a full year of curriculum on CD. This giveaway is worth $300, so enter and spread the word! There are several ways for you to enter this giveaway, but there is one mandatory first entry: leave a comment here letting me know what you like most about this curriculum.

I heard about this curriculum only last week through another blog. It sounds wonderful--everything about it! If I were to choose one thing I'm pretty sure I would like most about it, it's probably that it's based on children's literature. I'm obsessed with children's books!

I looked into this curriculum after seeing a link to it on your sidebar. I was immediatly intrigued by the fact that it is Literature-based units. However, the feature that I like MOST is that it does all the planning for you - so you can focus on what's most important...your kids. Many of us have the ability to plan literature-based units, but not the time. We end up taking time away from our kids when we get wrapped up in planning.

I've heard about this curriculum before but this is the first chance that I have had to take a look at it - I love the vastness and simplicity of the ideas. There are so many that are "doable" for our family - things I can see me having enough energy to put together and my son actually enjoying.

I only heard about this curriculum a few weeks ago when I started following your blog, but I love it! One of my favortie features is that it is literature based (I am WAY excited about the geography-based program too!!) and it takes the guess work out of finding appropriate books. Then once you have the books, all the activities are right at your fingertips. Homeschooling two (ages 5 and 3), this would be very handy!

I've heard about this curriculum all over, and looked at it myself more then once. I think my favorite part is that it seems easy to implement. Far easier then the hours every weekend i spend planning!

I like that it is geared toward a toddler. You don't find much that is specifically geared for that age.

I think what I like most about this curriculum (and I have only seen mini units) is that it is all PLANNED out!

I LOVE THAT THE CURRICULUM USES WHOLE LIVING BOOKS, SOMETHING MY CHILDREN ENJOY, TO TEACH THEM ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL SKILL AND TO HAVE FUN--THANKS.

What I like best? I'll have to share two things, at least! One, it's planned out for me--including masters for activity sheets, so I won't be hunting all over the web for stuff. Two, the book selections are great--some of my favorites are on there!

I love how this curriculum uses books that I would be reading to my children anyway and takes then to a deeper level!

Tara actually just sent me the December to review and blog about. I LOVE this curriculum and would love to have the whole year's worth! With 165 entries already though, my chances are slim! Ha.
