We use a sand tray to trace letters, but I'm thinking flour on a pan in the kitchen would be a lot less messy!Nicole {tired, need sleep}https://www.blogger.com/profile/13395532136969657091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2830748451146807697.post-51722124545058939122010-04-17T20:40:15.688-04:002010-04-17T20:40:15.688-04:00We play spray the letter. I (or the kids) draw all the letters on the driveway with chalk not in any particular order and then I call out "Spray the letter that the word 'bear' starts with". The kids have little spray bottles filled with water and they squirt the correct letter. You can also have them spray the letters to spell a certain word or do this for number recognition as well. I think I may have seen something like this at No Time For Flashcards.Terrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11076627591437095047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2830748451146807697.post-28343297502407482992010-04-17T12:49:43.700-04:002010-04-17T12:49:43.700-04:00Something we do, which I learned while working at ...Something we do, which I learned while working at the Montessori, is:<br />I will say "I hear 'mmm' when I say ... mommy...monkey...etc" and I will pause to let the girls come up with their own. Tabitha has gotten really good at this. I just do this randomly throughout the day with any of the letters/sounds we have worked on. I also just returned a book to the library by Wiley Blevins called "Phonemic Awareness Activities For Early Reading Success"kewkewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12668211363344117034noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2830748451146807697.post-67843977796564305932010-04-16T23:48:09.411-04:002010-04-16T23:48:09.411-04:00I just saw the coolest new product at the store: a...I just saw the coolest new product at the store: alphabet fruit snacks, just think what you could do with them.
